What Is a Concealment Wing
A concealment wing, also known as an appendix wing or claw, is a plastic attachment for inside the waistband holsters. The concealment wing is strategically positioned beneath the trigger guard of the firearm to enhance concealability, particularly when carrying larger firearms or in the appendix position.
A concealment wing pushes the grip of the firearm closer to the body to improve concealment. When the belt applies pressure to the wing, it creates resistance and leverage, causing the grip to tilt inward. This tilt reduces the visibility of the firearm’s outline or shape through clothing, a phenomenon known as printing. By keeping the grip closer to the body, the concealment wing facilitates a low-profile and discreet carry.
Different types of concealment wings are available on the market, each with its own unique features and compatibility with specific holsters. Some holsters include adjustable wings that allow users to customize the grip rotation and position according to their preference.
