ADT is a well-known home security company that offers a range of services, including home alarm systems, video surveillance, and home automation. If you’re considering ADT for your home security needs, you may be wondering about the difference between ADT Corporate and ADT Authorized Dealers. In this post, we’ll explore the key differences between these two options and help you understand which one may be the best choice for you.
About ADT Authorized Dealers
ADT authorized dealers are completely separate entities from that of ADT Security Services Inc. and should be contracted at your own risk. ADT security services does not employ, train, background check, drug screen or use any other method to pre-screen any and all sales reps and or installers sent to your home by an authorized dealer. Therefore, it is your responsibility as a consumer, to ask each and every individual seeking entry into your home for proper identification/licensing.
Some ADT authorized dealers will identify themselves as official ADT Security Services Inc. employees and may even wear ADT gear and fabricate official ADT badges. If you as a consumer would like to verify the identity of any individual representing themselves as an ADT corporate employee, please pick up the phone and dial 1-800-ADT-ASAP or contact an official ADT Security Services employee through ADT.com before granting an individual entry to your home.
Furthermore, the equipment installed by ADT authorized dealers is not official ADT product. The equipment installed in your home by ADT authorized dealers is not provided to them by ADT Security Services Inc. and may not meet the desired specifications or capabilities of alarm systems installed in your home directly by ADT Corporate.
Equipment purchased from an ADT authorized dealer is often times non-compatible with official ADT product, and in the future may result in you having to purchase new equipment if your account is sold to ADT Security Services Inc.(this may include devices such as window/door contacts, motion detectors, etc.).
Be advised that equipment purchased from ADT authorized dealers may be refurbished and/or leftover parts from another individual’s order. If a problem were to occur with your equipment after being sold to ADT Security Services Inc., ADT Security Services may not be responsible for repairing or replacing your equipment”.
As a representative of the actual #1 ADT Authorized Dealer, I urge readers to check the facts. Go to: https://www.adt.com/about-adt/legal/licenses/dealer-licenses and select your state. I searched 10 states – I could not find a license for “Protect Your Home” aka “Your Local Security.” Please identify yourself and prove you are an authorized dealer.
Hi,
Looks like PYH is out of business and the article is outdated. We’ll update it after researching the current ADT dealers.
Thanks for the hint.
